How Much Beef is a Quarter Cow?
Short answer: A quarter cow should feed one person for a year
Beef costs can get expensive especially if you shop at the grocery store or if you prefer specialized beef such as organic, hormone free, grass fed beef, etc. But buying beef online is a great deal and can save you a lot of money on your family's food costs.
So how much is a 1/4 cow?
The average adult meat-eater can eat a 1/2-3/4lb serving of meat in a sitting, 2-3 times a week. Remember you may have some friends and family to entertain throughout the year, also.
A quarter beef will equal approximately 110 pounds of meat, and depending on your processing choices, 5%-50% of that will be ground beef, and the other part will be primal cuts (steaks, roasts, brisket, ribs, etc.).

You can also shop individual cuts with Open Range Market such as rump roasts, flank steaks, short ribs, stew meat and more!
